Blacks in Technology Los Angeles Chapter Announces Partnership with STEM 54 and WillDan to Launch Math Camp for Aspiring Engineers
Program Offers Valuable STEM Opportunities for Local Youth
LOS ANGELES, CA — Blacks in Technology (BIT) Los Angeles Chapter is excited to announce the launch of the STEM 54/WellDan Math Camp, a unique opportunity designed for aspiring engineers. In partnership with STEM 54 and WillDan, this initiative will help local youth develop essential math skills, gain hands-on experience, and prepare for careers in engineering and other STEM fields.
The camp kicks off with a math assessment and orientation on November 29, 2024, and will run through winter and spring breaks. The program includes a series of 5-day intensive sessions during both winter break (December 16 - January 3) and spring break (April 12 - April 20), as well as weekly Saturday sessions between the two holiday breaks. Each participant will receive a laptop and a $100 gift certificate, while the top-performing student will be awarded a summer internship with WillDan, offering real-world experience in the engineering field.
Key Dates:
- First Meeting: November 29, 2024 – Math assessment and introduction
- Winter Break Session: December 16, 2024 - January 3, 2025
- Weekly Saturday Sessions: Ongoing between winter and spring break
- Spring Break Session: April 12, 2025 - April 20, 2025

Who Should Apply?
This program is open to students with an interest in pursuing a career in engineering or STEM-related fields. Candidates must submit a resume upon registration. Only
